places.geocast.ai (the "Directory") is Geocast's public archive of verified, source-receipted facts about hospitality and other properties, published through Geocast Foundation. It is built to be read both by people and by AI agents.
These Terms govern access to and use of the Directory and everything it exposes, including property profiles, individual facts, structured data (JSON-LD, agent.json), llms.txt, and any MCP endpoints or APIs. By accessing the Directory by any means, including automated means, you agree to these Terms. If you access on behalf of an organization or an AI agent you operate, you accept on its behalf.
If you are a property operator using Geocast, the Operator Terms of Service also apply to you. If you are a guest at a property, the Guest Terms of Use apply. Personal data is handled under the Privacy Policy.
- Verified property facts. Identity, location, contact, amenities, and similar facts, each carrying a citation to the source it was checked against.
- Structured data for agents. JSON-LD payloads, agent.json, llms.txt, and MCP endpoints designed for AI consumption.
- Human-readable profiles that forward visitors to the operator's own website with referral attribution.
The Directory includes properties that are Geocast customers and properties that are not. Inclusion does not imply endorsement by, affiliation with, sponsorship by, or any commercial relationship with the property.
- Public information only. Geocast compiles facts from publicly available sources, including the property's own public website and public records. Geocast does not log in to, bypass, or access password-protected, paywalled, or otherwise non-public areas to source facts.
- Respect for site controls. Geocast's crawlers identify themselves and respect robots.txt and similar published access controls on the sites they read.
- Facts, not expression. Geocast extracts and republishes factual information, which is not subject to copyright, and cites its source. Geocast does not republish the expressive content of third-party sites (prose, photographs, design) except as permitted by law or by the source's own license.
- Verification. Each published fact is checked against its source and stored with that source so it can be audited. Geocast's purpose is accuracy; a value that cannot be sourced is not published as verified.
If you are a property, or its authorized representative, and you believe a fact about your property is inaccurate, or you do not want your property listed, email legal@geocast.ai.
Geocast reviews correction requests promptly and corrects or removes inaccurate facts. A property may request removal of its listing from the Directory, and Geocast honors verified removal requests except where retention is required by law. This mechanism is in addition to the copyright process in Section 10.
You may access and use the Directory and the facts it publishes for personal, internal, research, journalistic, and AI-assistance purposes, subject to these Terms.
- Attribute the source. When you cite or surface a property from the Directory in an AI-generated answer, an application, or a publication, attribute it by linking to that property's places.geocast.ai URL. Attribution is how operators see that their property is being referenced.
- Verify before you rely. Facts are provided for information only. Confirm any fact that matters for a booking, a transaction, travel, or safety directly with the property.
- Do not present facts as an endorsement. A fact in the Directory is sourced information, not Geocast's endorsement of the property or the property's official statement to you.
You may not:
- Bulk-download, scrape, or systematically copy the Directory beyond what these Terms and any published rate limits permit, or in a way that burdens the service
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or relicense the Directory or any substantial part of it as a dataset, or use it to build or train a competing directory, database, or product
- Misrepresent the facts, alter them in a way that changes their meaning, or present them as Geocast's endorsement
- Remove, obscure, or falsify source citations, attribution, or referral tagging
- Use the Directory to harass a property, to send unsolicited communications, or for any unlawful purpose
- Circumvent access controls, rate limits, or security measures
The Directory is built to be queried by AI agents, and automated access is welcome within these Terms.
Agents should identify themselves with a descriptive user agent, respect the Directory's robots.txt and any published rate limits, retrieve only what they need, and cite the places.geocast.ai URL when surfacing a property. Geocast may rate-limit, throttle, or block automated clients that ignore these conditions, degrade the service, or attempt to copy the Directory wholesale. Access to MCP endpoints and APIs may be subject to additional technical terms published with those endpoints.
- Individual facts are not owned. Geocast does not claim ownership of the underlying facts themselves.
- The compilation is Geocast's. The Directory as a compilation, including its selection, arrangement, structure, schema, and source-receipt layer, is Geocast's intellectual property, protected by copyright and, where applicable, database rights. These Terms grant you only the limited right to use the Directory as described above and no other right.
- Property and Geocast marks. Property names, logos, and marks belong to the respective properties and are used to identify them. Geocast trademarks, including GEOCAST, GEOCAST.AI, and "The Invisible Host," are Geocast's.
THE DIRECTORY AND THE FACTS IN IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. GEOCAST WORKS TO PUBLISH ACCURATE, SOURCED FACTS BUT DOES NOT WARRANT THAT EVERY FACT IS ACCURATE, CURRENT, OR COMPLETE. CONDITIONS, PRICES, HOURS, AND AVAILABILITY CHANGE. VERIFY ANYTHING THAT MATTERS DIRECTLY WITH THE PROPERTY.
The Directory is not professional, legal, financial, medical, or travel-safety advice.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GEOCAST WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR RELIANCE ON, THE DIRECTORY OR ANY FACT IN IT. GEOCAST'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE DIRECTORY OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100), EXCEPT WHERE THIS LIMITATION IS NOT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Geocast respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. If you believe content in the Directory infringes your copyright, send a takedown notice containing the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) to Geocast's DMCA agent at legal@geocast.ai or the postal address in Section 13. Geocast removes infringing material and terminates repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. For factual corrections or listing removal, rather than copyright, use the process in Section 03.
Geocast may update these Terms from time to time. The version number and effective date at the top of this page change with each update. Continued use of the Directory after a change takes effect is acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are resolved as follows: if you are an operator, under the dispute-resolution provisions of the Operator Terms of Service; otherwise, under the dispute-resolution and arbitration provisions of the Guest Terms of Use, which are incorporated here by reference and include the class-action waiver and your right to opt out of arbitration, except where local law provides otherwise.
